The Blue Crab makes its home here in the Chesapeake Bay and some of the best crabbing on the shore is right off the pier at Runaway.  Bunker is the best bait, but chicken parts will do. Use the crab pots that are there for our guests and try your luck with a hand line and the net. Debbie preparing to go crabbing Kids seem especially fascinated by the challenge of slowly, hand over hand, pulling the string up and successfully netting a big one for the steam pot.  With the exception of bait, everything you need is on site. When steamed, Blue Crabs turn bright orange. It is a safe bet that you have never had crabs this good. Thirty minutes from the waters of the cove to the plate. Amazing!
