Onancock School (Dragonfly Gallery)
The converted old school building located at 6 College Ave. in Onancock, VA is a fascinating example of how artisans and visionaries in a community have re-purposed an obsolete institutional facility into a thriving hub for artists and art lovers. It is always a fun place to visit, but is an especially nice destination during the 2nd Friday celebrations. Turner Sculpture Gallery
Established in 1983, Turner Sculpture, near Onley, VA serves as the studios, foundry and gallery, for father and son sculptors William and David Turner, where most of their work is displayed. To date they have created more than 400 different limited edition bronzes and more than 50 large public commissions found throughout the United States. A large selection of their limited edition bronzes are available for purchase. Their gallery on the Eastern Shore of Virginia is open Monday through Sunday from 9 am. to 5 pm. The gallery is located on Rt. 13 just South of Onancock…about 15 minutes on Rt. 13. (Turn left at the Rt. 13/Rt. 183 intersection. The gallery is on the left).
